•SPECIAL CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY COURSE from INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERS.

•BACHELOR DEGREE in MATHEMATICS from KARACHI UNIVERSITY, which is very useful particularly for CIVIL ENGINEERING QUANTITY SURVEY WORK.

•During the Year 1976, passed INTERMEDIATE PRE-ENGINEERING got FIRST DIVISION.

•During the Year 1974, passed S. S. C. COURSE WITH SUBJECTS Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Technical Subjects also (e.g. Technical Drawings, Electricity, Metal Work, Wood Work e t c) got FIRST DIVISION.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE EXPERIENCE

Sr. QUANTITY SERVEYOR-II AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

As a Sr. Quantity Surveyor, I provide a range of services including Estimating, Cost Consulting & life-cycle costing & also served responsibilities to check the Measurement Quantities of all different items as per descriptions in Bill of Quantities.

•Use techniques to measure quantities from drawings, sketches & as per specifications in order to prepare tender/contract documents, is known in the industry as take off. The quantities of work taken off typically are used to prepare Bill of Quantities in accordance with a published Standard Method of Measurement as agreed by the Quantity Surveyor profession & representatives of the construction. This activity is usually completed before the commencement of work on site on a traditional (BOQ) project, the Contractor will then price this document in competitive tender & be paid according to a measure undertaken on site & applied to each specific work item.

•Variation estimates for projects due to changes in the project requirements that includes review of scope of work & related documents such as specifications, drawings, quantity survey, pricing.

•Traditionally referred to a Contractors Quantity Surveyor as a Professional Quantity Surveyor broadly concerned with contracts, measurement & costs on construction projects. The methods employed, however, cover a range of activities which may include cost planning, value engineering, value management, feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis, life-cycle costing, tendering, valuation, change control, dispute resolution, cost estimation, claims management & project management.

•Preparation of Service Order Estimates for projects to be executed through service contracts that includes review of scope of work related to specs drawings, quantity survey & pricing.

•Independent role on the team comprising client, architect, engineer that has given a reputation & appreciation for fairness. This combined with the expertise in drafting & interpretation of contract documents, enables to settle issues, value the works fairly and regularly, project final costs, avoid disputes & ensure the effective progress of a project.

•Preparation of Variation estimates for projects due to changes in project requirements. That includes review of scope of work & related documents such as specifications & drawings, quantity survey and pricing. Review contractor's estimate & prepare comparison to be used for negotiating final variation amount. Quantity Surveyor has control construction costs by accurate measurement of the work required on a regular basis, the application of expert knowledge of costs & prices of work, labor cost, materials & plant understanding of the implications of design decisions at an early stage to ensure that good value is obtained for the money to be expended.

Mr. Asim Bashir is Country Head Digital Banking Division . He joined Askari Bank in December 2002 as Manager Credit Card Center Lahore. He moved to Consumer Banking in 2004 at Head Office and managed its Policy, Strategic Planning & Product Development. In 2009, he was given the assignment in Marketing & Strategic Planning Group.
